It’s getting close to that time of year again. You start to feel guilty for over indulging, you feel sluggish, you’ve gained a few pounds, the weather is depressing… where do you turn?
The key is to find your fitness motivation. For some that’s just generally feeling fitter, for others it’s avoiding illness, setting a good example to other family members, more productivity at work etc. Our job as Personal Trainers is to help you identify your motivation and help you stay focussed to achieve your goals.
At Gym72 we suggest:
1) Finding your motivation (write down why it is so important you get fit, refer back to it when motivation is low)
2) Set measureable and realistic goals. Monitor progress monthly and put 100% into achieving them
3) Follow an exercise programme specifically designed for you! Don’t just copy what you see other people doing in the gym. They might have completely different goals and will more than likely have a different level of ability
4) Variety is the spice of life. Make sure there is some in your workouts too. This keeps the body guessing and will help you to get results faster.
5) Learn to enjoy exercise it shouldn’t be a chore. Get yourself a Personal Trainer or find friends who share an interest in getting fit. Joining group exercise classes is also a great way of making exercise fun
6) Enjoy the rewards!! Look great and feel great not just for the New Year but for the rest of your life
